PAGB Awards for Photographic Merit
November 2010
I bring tidings of Great Joy, at least for a few of you! No, it is not Christmas but, if you are a slide worker interested in entering the PAGB Awards, it might just seem that way. At a number of the recent PAGB Adjudications it has been necessary to cancel the Slide sections due to lack of entries. We need a minimum of five per section, to run but rarely get above two applications.
Continuing the Festive theme: “Fear not”, said he “for mighty dread had seized their troubled minds” The PAGB Awards Committee have been well aware that we are not being able to cater for those still practising slide photography. So, for the November 2010 adjudication only (which will be in Lancashire) we will be running Slide sections at each level (Credit, Distinction and Master) irrespective of the number of applications we receive. Remember, however, that there are a maximum number of images that can be handled in one day so spaces may be limited.
There you have it, Slide workers, a Christmas present delivered early to your door.
Why am I mentioning the November 2010 adjudication? Well, the entry lists for this event open in early September this year and, as we operate a “first come, first served” system, you will need to apply soon after this to guarantee a place. Due to changes to the Conditions of Entry, new application forms will be with Federation Awards Officers around the end of August – the old forms will no longer be acceptable.
